Evening Workshop: Trust & Communication – Event Recap

Group laughing at a table

Whew. What a whirlwind the past week has been for us! We have been dying to share about how our Evening Workshop: Trust and Communication went and we’re finally able to sit down and tell you all about it!

As usual with our events, something doesn’t go as planned. And it often turns out for the best. This happened last Thursday night.

Little hiccups, guest fluctuations, sponsor mishaps–y’know the usual things when it comes to hosting an event! But man–at the end of the night, it’s so worth it. And last Thursday was no exception.

We had a small but mighty group join us for this magical night and they were incredible.

We always have the same comments after our events and this one is no different:

The folks that join us are rockstars.

Seriously.

They are so willing and ready to dive into deeper relationship work and have those hard and uncomfortable experiences that allow them to reach a new level. We can’t take any credit for that. It’s all on these amazing and inspiring guests that show up and rock it. We love you guys!

This round we had some singles, some dating, and a married couple. It made for such a great mix! And proved again that this work applies to all of us. And proves the “real life” stuff that isn’t taught in school IS needed everyday.

  • “How do you build trust with someone?”
  • “How do you become a better listener?”
  • “What do you say when it comes to a hard conversation?”
  • “I don’t even know what I’m doing when it comes to this…where do I start?”

ALL OF THIS was answered and then some.

The magic container was held by us but was made beautiful by the folks who joined us. Thank you guys for being so freakin’ awesome. We so happy to call you friends.

This event was a concentrated version of two of our pillars for our Retreat Style Workshop (Trust and Communication) with some new activities sprinkled in. We dove into the world of Trust and Communication hard. We had our custom workbook and presentation teaching on all the things like listening blocks, communication techniques, how to build trust, what the point of communication is, and more. We also wanted this to be as interactive as possible by allowing our friends (our guests are friends now!) to really experience this learning in real time, try it out in a safe space, and work through those first awkward steps with some help if they needed it. We had 4 activities that walked them through communication basics to advanced techniques. They killed it. It was so stinkin’ cool to watch!

We saw actual “aha moments” and discoveries and connection happen in real time.

We heard “Wow, I didn’t know that about myself or you.” and “This will totally help when we…” and “Omg. We should use this when…”

It was the real deal. And it was SO awesome to see!

Outside of our chats, 4 activities, notes, and questions, we had, of course, goodies and snacks! (Cause, duh!) It made for an evening to remember. It went by so fast, which really tells you how awesome it was. We both felt like we blinked and it was over! We jam-packed this event with material and our friends kept up so well. They were right there with us, every step, turn, and challenge. Even when we took a quick break, some chose to stay and keep writing notes and reflections. THAT is the coolest thing ever.

We have to say a big thank you to our sponsors who helped spoil our guests with swag bags of goodies and made the evening just that much more amazing. You guys are the best!
