Panel Discussion Nov 2018 – Event Recap

in Past Events on 11/10/18

Whew. Where do we start with this one. Ah! Let’s start where it all started, and always comes back to, our why:

“If we can make an impact on one person around REALationships and drive home the point that we’re not alone, it’s worth it.”

This was something we told ourselves (okay, mainly Taylor and her anxiousness) over and over again in the days leading up to the panel discussion.

We are SICK and TIRED of these stealth expectations about relationships filtering through our lives, impacting how we operate, and ultimately how happy and satisfied we are about our lives in general.

This was where the panel discussion came around about a year ago.

We felt there needed to be a touch point that was accessible for those just starting to peek behind the curtains of REALationships. A place one could go to observe real conversations and have their questions answered honestly. A place to spark this curiosity and have that be the trail of breadcrumbs they follow to their happiness in REALationships.

The last panel discussion we had was such a dream come to fruition. And this one was no exception either.

We gotta be honest, we had expectations about this event. We had guest numbers, vendors, sponsors, and almost not one thing went as expected.

And we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

For those of you reading this who plan or host events, you know what we’re talking about here. Things go awry or unexpectedly, plans change and sometimes (read: always) it’s for the better.

And in this case, it SO was.

Check out the Video here.

Listen, we’re not the folks who claim to know everything about relationships and dating. In fact, we’re the first to tout that we are not the experts, but we do have experience. And what we encourage and LOVE about our events is that we strive to provide a space for others to share their experience as well. Because let’s get real, WE ALL HAVE VALUABLE RELATIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE to share. We want to learn from you, too!

This event had more intimate numbers than we were expecting and boy, did that work in our favour. We started the evening with our moderated panel discussion by the incredible Nat of Venture Creative and our expert panelists Jamie and Kelsey. We got into some AMAZING places around relationships, dating, sex, energy, cheating, growth, and more.

Then came the best part.

We had a round table discussion with ALL our guests together. We opened the floor to share experiences, heartbreaks, lessons, questions, and laughs. There were moments that brought us all into knowing laughter and moments that brought us close to tears. There was DEEP connection and real safety in the learning.

It was SO meant to be.

Our favourite part was when we all jammed around frequency we all showed up with and have experienced in all relationships. Positivity vs negativity, low vs high. (For those of you who joined us, you know EXACTLY what we’re talking about here!) So many aha moments.

The best part: The actual resources that were shared amongst and by all of us. We’ve linked some of the key ones below for you to take a gander at.

So, if we could sum up this evening in a few words it would be this:

REAL, Connected, and Magic.

We LOVE getting to hang with you guys in person, getting to hug you, listen to you, share with you, and support you. We love seeing those “Aha” moments when the light bulb goes off and the curiosity is raging for a new area of your life to explore or make sense of.

If we could leave you with one message before clicking away, it’s this:

Thank you.

Thank you for allowing us to do this work and show up for you. To our vendors, sponsors, panelists, and guests—YOU make this magic possible and we can’t thank you enough!!
