Relationship Project Event #2 – Recap

in Past Events on 03/28/17

Our 2nd Relationship Project Event happened in March and it was just incredible.

This has been a little delayed in coming out! Since The Event, held on March 5 and 12, we’ve been zooming ahead with so many projects and collaborations, time really swept by. Finally, we’ve set aside some time to let you all in on how our 2nd Relationship Project Event went down. (Hint: it was more than we could have hoped for!) Remember to check out the gallery at the end to see pictures of how it went, too!

We want to start off by giving huge bear hugs and solid virtual high fives to all of those friends (yes, you’re all friends now!) who joined us for the two day, retreat-style workshop. We know you’ve heard us tell you this so many times, but let us tell you again, you all are ROCK STARS. Seriously.

The energy, the vibes, the learning, the vulnerability, the laughter, the shared stories…We could go on and on–you guys were amazing.

We’re always blown away by how courageous our friends are in those moments in the workshop where we ask the hard questions and reflect. To see you all dive into the activities and exercises so whole-heartedly makes our hearts sing.

There were so many special “a-ha” moments throughout the workshop, for our friends and for us. (We are always learning along side you!) We had some changes to the format this time and we were curious to see how they would be received. (Spoiler: they were definitely a hit!)

We added in the week in between sessions and man–so glad we did that. The homework our friends came back with was spot on. We were learning just as much from their homework insights as we hope they did! We also incorporated more interactive activities and mini one-on-one’s with each couple/attendee-turned-friend and we’ve got to say; for us, that was BY FAR our favourite part. The frontline, hands dirty, applying the learning was so incredible to witness. The “a-ha’s” were flying like crazy. You, my friends, were so inspiring!

When we started The Relationship Project is was really a passion fuelled message and we had no idea it would resonate so well. We simply wanted to share what we’ve learned, expose the real side to relationships, and help others achieve the heights of a genuine and authentic relationship.

It’s always scary for us to host these events, it’s not like we’re professional experts, PhD’s, or magical unicorns–we’re learner’s, sharer’s, and too-curious-for-our-own-good-er’s. We’re always scared to show our messy-ness, our tools, and our failures. We always have those gremlins scaring us into thinking, “Oh no. Is this going to suck?” “What are we doing?”

We’ve had a rough journey through our relationship and we were determined to grow and learn as much as we could.

The beauty is in the mess.

That’s where the juicy, delicious learnings of these workshops are held; in the accumulation of years of research, techniques, therapy, tools, tips, stories, wisdom and experiences, all hand delivered to you.

We deliver it in the hopes of creating a catalyst for change and tangible ways to apply these learnings to your relationships.

And, if we can so humbly express, we feel like that truly happened during this event. But, please don’t take our word for it, here’s a glimpse into what our new friends had to say about their experience:

“Thank you SO much for putting together this event. It has been one eye-opening moment after another!”

“The best part were the activities! Bringing concepts directly into practice made it applicable and memorable, also the strategies specific to you guys that work well…and the food!”

“I loved all the strategies for conflict resolution!”

“My major take-away from this event was around blaming. Oh my word, I related to this so much!”

“This was an amazing event. It gave me a reality check that it takes everything you got to maintain a healthy relationship.”

“I just loved the amount of research put into this project. I will be taking a majority of this info for all different types of relationships. The most enjoyable part was the exercises.”

“You guys are just SO real!”

“It was great to see vulnerability applied in the context of relationships and communication.”

“The best part was the intimacy! I felt in a safe space where I could share without judgement, in second place I would put the content itself. It was really thorough and applicable.”

Wow, right?

We are clutching our hearts and happy dancing at this impact, but do you want to know who the real credit goes to? All of those friends who joined us. (Yes, you!)

The way our workshops are designed is unique, you really get out of it what you put into it. And for our friends to feel this much value says SO much about how they showed up to do the work. Again, you guys are freakin’ ROCK STARS. (Yes, we know, we said it, again!)

And we can’t forget to thank our generous sponsors that make this event so much more awesome. (Hello free swag, giveaways, and prizes!)

We love spoiling our guests-turned-friends, you all deserve it. We can’t put into words how overwhelmed we are with gratitude and positivity in how the project has been received and how you all have taken it and run with it.

Okay, there you have it, our official brief run down of the event. We are so grateful, honoured, and happy! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You make this all worth it.

Stay tuned for details on the next event, you won’t want to miss it.
